Tomorrow is today and today I have Cancer.
My Oncologist informed me that I have HER2 + Breast Cancer. I asked him if he recommended removing the lump immediately. He looked into my eyes ruefully and softly said; if we remove the lump you will need at least 2 months to heal and you don’t have 2 months.
Next he said; you need to begin chemotherapy immediately – and then he asked me if I could stay and receive chemotherapy right then and there.
When you get news like this, it feels as if the entire world is spinning around you, in a blur, and you are left standing still, suddenly feeling isolated and alone.
The fight is yours alone and no one else can fight it for you.
I wonder what will be tested here; faith, strength, endurance, patience, love, friendships.
